Letter-spacing Project

This workshop was a collaboration with book arts faculty Amy Thompson at the University of Utah. The objective was to give students a visceral understanding of letter-spacing on the press to augment instruction and exercises in DES 3320 Typographic Communication and Book Design. Students worked in teams to typeset their word of choice, letter-space the type and then print the word on press. The students printed a run of 30 prints so that each student could take home a complete set of prints.
